Why facials are important?

You work out, try to eat as healthy as possible and get your haircut every 6-8 weeks. You should treat you skin the same way and get facials. As the seasons change, so does your skin. As temperatures rise, your skin can become oilier which can lead to breakouts. As the weather gets colder, skin can become dehydrated because of inside heating systems. Facials help to reduce oils and clear away any debris like sand or sunscreen that's left behind. Facials can also replenish the moisture lost from inside heat and being in a drier climate.

What are the benefits of getting facials?

There are many benefits to getting a facial. They lead to a smoother texture, improve moisture levels in the skin, give you a glowing complexion, clearer and firmer skin. The real key here to yield all the benefits of a facial is that you should get them on a regular basis. Like working out, the real results come from working out consistently.

How often should you get one?

Your routine for getting facials will depend on your skin type. The general rule is to get one once a month, if your budget allows it. If you have dry skin, it’s better to be more diligent during colder months. If you have oily skin, it’s more important to get facials during warmer months. Facials can prevent and/or solve problems for all skin types.

What do I need to know before I go?

While facials are relaxing, there are a couple uncomfortable moments that can happen during the process. Extractions occur when your esthetician deep cleans your pores. Estheticians have to use the right amount of pressure and angles for successful extractions that can cause discomfort. You also may experience redness following a facial. The good news is the redness should go away in about a day or two, so there’s no need to worry.

Along with the addition of Adair downstairs, our nail services are getting an upgrade! Fall 2015 Hair Trends

At Solace we love to try out all the trendy new looks! Take a look below for a few fun ideas to try out this fall!


Low Profile

Most pony tails are placed high on the head to either get hair out of the way or to pose like a 90s cheerleader. This fall, it seems that low ponies are making their debut, so say goodbye to the pony tail crimps as low, loose ponies are welcomed in this season.

Pick a Side
Despite the middle part coming back into style the past few years, side parts are the new trend this fall. The deeper, more dramatic the side part the better. Seeing more hair is on one side than the other, you’re guaranteed instant volume. To add definition, let the extra hair fall forward across the face.

Messy Twists

Don’t worry about perfecting this side updo. It’s meant to be a little messy. Working from the left, sweep the hair across the back of your head up off your nape and over to the right so that you have a very rough diagonal part. Wrap the hair with an elastic as though you’re going to make a ponytail, but don’t pull the ends all the way through. Voila! Your messy twist is complete.

Bohemian Waves

Sounds like Bohemian Waves will be in every season. Who doesn’t love the beach wave? Using some sort of texturing product, you can scrunch your hair (for curly hair) or curl it with a big barrel iron (for straight hair). Either way, this hairstyle will make your miss summer this fall!

Party in the Back

No, mullets are not back in! The half up, half down styles are a big hit this fall though. Whether it’s a half braid, half ponytail, or any variation of the two, you will look great.

Skyscraper Buns

Leggings, PSLs and skyscraper buns will be in your near future! This easy hairstyle involves minimal effort with sleek results. For someone who wants more structure than just a messy bun, this “fun bun” will provide just enough sophistication.

Sleek Bangs

Be bold with bangs! The short hairstyle is cut to sit at the jaw-line in a solid line with the bangs jagged cut to fall naturally on the face to soften the whole boyish hairstyle. The trendy layered hairstyle is excellent for people with naturally straight hair and is suitable for people from nearly all ages.

Hair Painting / Balayage
Foils are so last season! The new rage this fall is balayage, the perfect way to obtain sun-kissed highlights. Balayage refers to the process of sweeping color onto hair using a paddle, which gives the colorist more freedom to place color where she chooses, unlike foils which can be much more precise.

Not Your Average Brow Waxing; It’s a Brow Experience

5 Spring Hair Color Trends You'll Love

All Natural Spring: Color trends neutral and classic for warm weather hairstyles. 

Searching for the perfect update to your hair for spring? This seasons hair colors are trending towards natural and subtle, away from loud and proud.

1. Balayage
Like its best friend “ombre”, the “balayage” technique creates a unique cascade of colors from root to tip of your hair. What separates these color techniques is application and color selection. While the “ombre” is applied using a brush, the “balayage” is applied by hand to even out the transition of colors in the hair. In addition the “balayage” calls for subdued and neutral colors to be added to the hair to create natural highlights.

2. Babylights
With babylights it is all about being subtle, like the soft highlights that appear in your hair after spending a warm, sunny afternoon in the sun. Instead of targeting big sections of hair to be highlighted, individual strands are selected and highlighted to create the natural look. This color trend looks great with any hair color, so brunettes do not be afraid of the blonde highlights!

3. Soft Reds
As the natural, sunkissed tones are sweeping the color trends they are toning down vibrant reds. Soft red tones such as auburn and red with gold highlights are bringing back the classic strawberry blonde.
